Our Federal Government Client is seeking a User Experience Designer.

This is a long-term contract role with an initial contract duration of 12 months, with the potential for a 12-month extension, located at our client's offices in Canberra.

As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Lead user experience design for a new customer portal for near coastal seafarers.
  • Design and deliver information architectures, wireframes, user interface, and visual designs, shaping the end user experience.
  • Conduct user research and testing, using analytics to map user journeys and drive improvement.
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams, building effective stakeholder relationships in a rapid change environment.
  • Articulate design recommendations, collaborate with influence, and advocate for a user-centered design approach.
  • Apply the Digital Service Standard, Agile methodology, and WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA in an embedded agile delivery team.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading user experience design for digital products and services, especially in the B2C web application space.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing successful user experience projects, including information architectures, wireframes, and visual designs.
  • Experience conducting user research and testing, using analytics to drive improvement.
  • Ability to articulate vision and design recommendations, collaborate effectively, and advocate for a user-centered design approach.
  • Proficiency in applying the Digital Service Standard, Agile methodology, and WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA.

It is desirable if you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in human-centered design, behavioral psychology, product/project management, information technology, or significant experience in these fields.
  • Experience in large-scale digital transformations.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens able to obtain Baseline clearance.
