Senior Systems Administrator required for a role within the government sector in Brisbane, through to May 2022. The role will provide specialist technical system support, and advice to customers, business partners and internal staff. You will also be required to collaborate with other IT teams, especially those which manage other layers of the ICT infrastructure stack e.g. OS Support Teams, Internetworking, Architecture, Product Management, Customer Relationship Managers, Service Managers, Solutions Implementation Teams, Project Management and others.


Within this role you will be responsible for:

  • Provide advanced Veeam system administration services in a multi tenanted environment
  • Work alongside the Veeam Migration Project manager and Data Protection team to successfully migrate environments from Avamar and Networker into Veeam.
  • Work alongside the Veeam Migration Project Manager and Data Protection team to successfully complete software upgrades, optimisations and enhancements to the Veeam Data Protection platform
  • Contribute to the team by sharing your knowledge and assisting in maintaining the Team's testing environment
  • Provide support services for the Veeam Data Protection platform


To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Demonstrated technical experience in performing system administration activities in an enterprise environment in the following
    • 3 + years' experience managing Veeam Backup and Replication Platform (for sites greater than 500 Virtual Machines)
    • Experience with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365
    • Experience with Veeam One
    • The following would also be advantageous:
      • Other Enterprise Data Protection Solutions e.g. DellEMC Networker
      • Pure Storage Administration experience
  • Demonstrated experience in providing effective and quality systems administration, management and enhancement services to clients with reliability in meeting agreed deadlines and commitments.
  • Experience in supporting productive working relationships - by sustaining positive relationships with team members, other colleagues and stakeholders and being responsive to customer needs and expectations.
  • By having demonstrated experience operating in accordance with organisational processes and constraints, as well as taking responsibility for accuracy, self-evaluating and seeking feedback and self-development.
  • Ability to clearly, effectively and proactively communicate with a range of stakeholders in an environment that deals with complex infrastructure architecture and a complex customer base.
