Our Client:
Our client has a large presence within the Telecommunication Sector, they are currently seeking Database Administer to join their team.
The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the operation and integration of Cloud Database services that support complex IT systems and solutions to help achieve our strategic priorities and objectives. Provide engineering support for production and non-production MS SQL Server database environments, help onboard new Database Services, and continuously participate in building value-add capabilities into the platform.
About the role
You would be involved in:
- Assisting with building continuous integration/ continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems that install, configure, deploy, and monitor Cloud Database solutions
- Participating in optimising public cloud spending by validating database system architecture/design and providing inputs to identify cost-saving solutions within performance and operational requirements
- Participating in assessing the capability of vendor solutions and managing vendor delivery, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards
- Operate Cloud database platforms by defined enterprise security, privacy guidelines and structural separation requirements
- Work closely and collaboratively with Cloud service providers, technology partners and stakeholders
To be successful for the role, you would ideally have:
- Strong expertise in MS SQL Server Databases
- Analytical approach to Problem Solving
- Database Design / Build / Deploy
- Database Security
- Database Operational Excellence - Incident/Problem/Change Management/ Incident prevention & resolution
Desirable qualities:
- AWS, Azure, GCP implementation of MS SQL Server technologies
- Baseline or NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance (or meet conditions to apply for a clearance)
