Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer.

This is a long-term contract role for 12 months with the possibility of 2 extensions, located at our client's offices in ACT, QLD, SA, VIC.

As the selected candidate, you will:

* Manage Midrange Unix Infrastructure.

* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

* Collaborate with teams to plan and implement infrastructure improvements.

* Participate in incident response and problem management.

* Support security monitoring and mentorship.

* Occasionally support after-hours work as part of the Unix Operations team.

To be successful in this role you should have:

* Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems.

* Proficiency in creating detailed technical documentation.

* Ability to work collaboratively with networking, compute, storage, and security engineers.

* Experience in coordinating deployment with vendors and internal resources.

It is desirable if you have:

* Experience with Red Hat Ansible automation, Pacemaker, and Satellite.

* Knowledge of Red Hat Identity Manager.

* Experience with Virtualisation platforms such as IBM Power, VMware, OpenStack, or Oracle SPARC.

* Red Hat Certified Administrator (RHCA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification or Oracle Solaris Administration Certification.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with Negative Vetting Level 1.
