Our Federal Government Client is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join as Program and Project Support Officers. These roles will involve providing essential support in the planning and delivery of one of their critical programs and related projects. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record of supporting and delivering complex ICT programs or projects, possessing strong attention to detail, sound judgement and excellent organisational skills.

Key Deliverables

This process will be used to fill multiple positions. Successful the applicants will be able to support many, or all, of the following deliverables (there is no hierarchy):

  • Project Delivery and Support: Assist in the development and delivery of project plans, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Delivery Assistance: Support the execution and delivery of projects, including coordinating resources, tracking progress and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Change and Release Management: Efficiently manage change and release processes by enforcing governance, tracking tasks and delegating responsibilities to ensure adherence to organisation policies and process.
  • Support for Boards and Working Groups: Provide logistical and administrative support for project boards, steering committees and working groups, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and capturing minutes and action items.
  • Board Secretariat: Actively manage project board meetings; recording recommendations, documenting minutes, and ensuring execution of agreed-upon actions, including both board directives and Gateway compliance requirements, as outlined by organizational commitments.
  • Assurance Oversight: Contribute to project assurance activities, conducting quality reviews, and ensuring adherence to project management best practices and standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in project management principles and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining accurate program/project documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong focus on accuracy in documentation and adherence to strategies and plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and build strong relationships across functions and stakeholder groups.
  • Capability to take initiative, lead projects and motivate team members.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and experience in conducting quality reviews.
  • Demonstrated capacity to operate in accordance with departmental governance structures.

The role is on an initial 12-month contract with two (2) possible 12-month contract extensions. It is the Client's preference for the work to be done on site at their office in Canberra. Flexible working arrangements, in office for face-to-face meetings or as required by operational needs.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens able to obtain AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
