About the Program

Earlier this year, the Premier released our new housing plan, Homes for Queenslanders (HfQ). To support the HfQ plan. To support the success of this important community initiative, The Service Modernisation Program (SMP) will deliver a comprehensive program of work which will:

  • improve the way vulnerable Queenslanders interact with our frontline services;
  • provide a single source of truth for data and;
  • provide us with the agility to respond to the changing needs of Queenslanders through reducing the complexity of our ICT ecosystem.

About the Role

The Project Support Officer will report directly to the Program Director and will be responsible for the overall delivery of project support and related artefacts for the SMP.

  • Provide ongoing support for their assigned Project Manager through advice, problem solving and analysis.
  • Support project governance committees through secretariat services including scheduling of meetings, production of agendas, papers and minutes and maintaining action/decision registers.
  • Assisting with the development of and quality reviewing briefing notes submitted for consideration at key governance forums and to executive leadership.
  • General project support tasks including document management, artefact collation and assisting the Project Manager and Program Support Officer, as required.
  • Coordinating assurance activities, artefact collation and treatment plan development.
  • Manage and maintain key project registers and coordinate project assurance activities.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in project processes and manage the implementation of these opportunities.
  • Support and administer project updates in Azure DevOps, as required.
  • Offer support, as requested, to Program Directors to meet Service Modernisation Program objectives.
  • Work collaboratively across multi-functional teams whilst effectively managing uncertainty and change.
  • Complete additional activities and tasks as required by the designated Project Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications is understood (e.g., Business Administration, Information Technology, or Project Management).
  • Proven experience in project support roles, preferably within government or large organisations.
  • Familiarity with project management methods and tools. Ability to tailor processes according to standards and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in project assurance, planning, scheduling, reporting and tracking using recommended tools.
  • Experience providing administrative services to project boards and quality review meetings.
  • Ability to maintain financial records, assist with budgeting, and analyse financial data related to projects.
