The main responsibilities of the Systems Engineer are:
- Managing various Telecommunication Packages Scope of Work
- Describe the functions and requirements on the solution
- Formalise the specification, interfaces and the architectural design to develop the solution
- Prepare and perform the solution integration, verification and validation tests.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Systems Engineer, you are accountable for:
- Develop schedule and cost estimates and risk identification for the project definition and implementation, and manage engineering work to deliver solutions that meet customer needs, on schedule and budget
- Development of detailed design documentation understanding the Telecommunication Principles
- Development of external interface design and construction detailed design
- Understand the requirements from our customer and manage them in the DOORS Requirements data base.
- Requirements elicitation, analysis and development for new proposals and resulting from change requests
- Conducting trade/trade-off studies to assist with selection of solutions and/or associated equipment.
- Development of product specifications, detailed design documentation and engineering management plans.
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
- Experience in leading engineering work packages
- Sound fundamental knowledge of Communication and Security systems
- Experience deploying one or more large scale Communication and/or Security solution
- Experience with DOORS database is ideal
- Previous experience of working on Transport projects:
In the rail corridor
Previous Brownfield & Greenfield environment experience
Experience in many of the following technologies (design, interface and installation)
