About the Role :
This role reports into an ICT Security and Projects Manager and as an ICT System Administrator, you are expected to:
- Ensure the availability, reliability, security, and quality of on-prem IT infrastructure and the services itprovides to the business.
- Identify, investigate, analyse, resolve, and log/report issues and incidents on time to ensure minimalbusiness disruption.
- Perform root cause analysis to permanently solve recurring issues.
- Automate any recurring tasks using scripts.
- Monitor onsite IT infrastructure capacity and performance levels and report all upgrade requirementson time.
- Review existing and emerging ICT requirements, conduct market research and due diligence toidentify and commission appropriate products and services.
- Test new hardware and software before commissioning.
- Manage, maintain, and decommission retired or redundant systems.
- Maintain detailed, accurate technical documentation and operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
You are primarily responsible for the setup, administration, and maintenance of
Client's on-prem IT infrastructure including:
- Physical servers, NAS, SAN, UPS, Switches, Firewalls, UTMs, Routers, Modems, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi,
- VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP etc.
- RedHat HPCC using Bright cluster management software (no setup knowledge required)
- VMware vSphere Hosts, Clusters, Virtual Machines (VM), vCenter servers, Virtual networks, Virtual
- storage (using Direct-attached, iSCSI and NAS), Resource pools, vMotion etc.
- Windows and Linux servers, LAMP stack, LDAP services etc.
- File and Image-based Backup, Recovery, Archival and Retention using Veeam and Backup4all.
- IT Inventory, Patching, Health-checks, Monitoring and Reporting, Checklist, Documentation etc.
