Our Client:
Our client has a large presence within the Aerospace Industry, they are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join on an initial 12-month contract.
The primary focus for this role is to design and document solution proposals, with reference to a defined system functional baseline, to satisfy customer requirements and project/bid cost targets. Provide technical oversight to other teams ensuring that the designed solution is implemented as per the design and in accordance with the project/bid schedule and cost constraints
About the role
You would be involved in:
- Assembling the solution elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behaviour, interactions, and performance to confirm that the requirements against which the solution has been designed are fulfilled
- Documentation of the specification and the engineering plans used to develop the solution, as well as Engineering Change Proposals and Requests
- Preparing and conducting specification reviews with our customers; lead technical working groups both internally and externally to define technical solutions
- Contributing to the Systems Architecture and/or to the Systems Engineering Management teams to identify and mitigate functional or architectural risks
- Providing support to the Software Development team, Integration and Validation teams during the implementation phase of the project
To be successful for the role, you would ideally have:
- Degree in Engineering, IT or a related discipline and relevant industrial experience in systems engineering or communication systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of the full systems engineering life cycle, from concept design, requirements capture and management, system and subsystem design, system integration through to test strategies and acceptance
- Solid experience in developing real-time distributed systems in a highly complex, safety-critical environment
- Ability to turn complex issues into an appropriate level of detail in a methodological manner through the application of structured systems analysis and associated engineering processes and tools
- Strong knowledge and use of requirements & defect management tools such as DOORS & JIRA
