About the Role
As Risk and Safety Assurance Specialist you will provide specialist risk expertise, that includes advice across system safety, management advice, capability and capacity to the program. You will be supporting the achievement of operational and risk management requirements and ensure compliance with applicable internal and external regulatory standards

Responsibilities
- Provide advice to the program on the interpretation and use of reports/data
- Interpret data from quantitative assessment model
- Maintain, develop and implement aspects of the program's Risk Register including; governance, data quality, application of controls
- Prepare and review specialist safety risk assessments and analysis
- Drive achievement of targeted risk management objectives
- Provide risk management advice covering system safety risk management disciplines
- Facilitate risk workshops and the provision of specialist risk assessments (qualitative and quantitative) using techniques such as FHA, HAZID, IHA, SHA and O&SHA
- Provide specialist risk management support, advice and mentoring to further develop their risk management competencies
- Deliver efficiency and set a platform for increased commerciality
- Execute safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are consistent
Experience
- Experienced in the application of risk assessment techniques to support risk-based decision making within a safety critical environment
- Experience in delivery of specialist risk management plans, safety assurance reports, assessments
- Demonstrated experience in the application of technical safety assurance processes within large scale projects involving rail related systems
- Demonstrated ability to provide expert level analysis of risk data
- High level of ability to effectively communicate the results of risk analysis
- Ability to work with and influence executives and senior management in the use and interpretation of risk reports and data.
- Ability to share knowledge relating to the appropriate use of risk data within the business environment
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a risk relevant discipline.
