Job Description

Project Manager

End to end Project Manager required for an initial 6-month contract with this award-winning travel organisation. The role requires managing multiple projects in the analytical and research area of the business. The ideal candidate will have a BI background and solid experience managing end to end projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct large-scale, complex projects that may involve multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop the PMP, setting up the right governance structure, project tracking, project financials and status reporting.
  • Validate financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures in conjunction with the Program Director
  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
  • Build, lead, and coach multiple project teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects
  • Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered
  • Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company
  • Continually update relevant business stakeholder of project status and periodically publish project status reports.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to regularly brief key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives.
  • Represent the project in various project governance and inter-departmental forums
  • Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
  • Ensure all projects meet success parameters and outcome targets stated in business case
  • Ensuring that project is managed and reported effectively to ensure that core requirements are met on a continuing basis.
  • Monitoring of and reporting on work schedules to ensure completion of work within time and budget constraints.
  • Liaising with internal and external parties.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and delivering complex projects.
  • Experience working on end to end BI projects.
  • Experienced in partnering with senior stakeholders to identify and address project issues
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • End to End Project Delivery
  • Experience in the implementation of project management principles, practices, techniques and tools.
  • Experience in risk analysis and profiling procedures.
  • Experience in developing project budgets and projections and scheduling resources accordingly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and interact effectively with both in house and service providers.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate concepts and ideas clearly and concisely, at various levels both internally and externally.
  • Excellent group facilitation, mediation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and allocate resources appropriately.
  • Stakeholder Management.
  • Communications management.
  • Bachelor's Degree would be well regarded but not essential.
  • PMP certification.
  • Delivery of both business and technical projects essential.
  • Ability to integrate into BAU such that the deliverables are sustainable in the longer term.
  • Ability to remain aligned to the strategy and provide guidance on the progress of outcomes.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Strong planning, organisational, and leadership skills, including the ability to mobilise and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace, and execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to navigate in a highly matrixed organization effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations, and proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders.
  • Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
