Our Federal Government client is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to be a key member of a small team responsible for overseeing a number of critical network migration projects and supporting upcoming events. They will also utilise their IT and engineering skills to undertake routine hardware, software and network maintenance, and contribute to the performance of the team to enhance processes and by liaising with other IT teams and vendors.
This is a long-term contract opportunity for 6 Months, located at our Client's Canberra City location.
As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:
- In depth knowledge of network protocols and ability to use performance monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of switch, router and firewall hardware and ability to configure using both copper and fibre technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to allow for effective liaison with colleagues, management, vendors (product support and procurement) and end users.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian Citizens who currently possess or are able to gain a NV1 Federal Government Security Clearance.
