Our Federal Government Client is looking for ICT Network Security Engineer
This is a long term contract for 12 months with 2 x 12 month extention options. Located at our clients Canberra office
There is an expectation that successful candidates will work 5 days per week (estimated 40 hour week). The positions are predominantly based in Canberra, with the exception of potentially 1 position in Melbourne and Perth each. On boarding is in Canberra, noting there is be a requirement for short term occasional travel (once every 6-8 weeks for 1 week) within Australia.
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
The ICT Network Security Engineer's major responsibilities include:
- Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices
- Provide feedback on network requirements, including network architecture and infrastructureProvide feedback on maintaining network infrastructure devices and network backup and recovery procedures
- Integrate new system's into existing network architecture
- Diagnose network connectivity problem
To be successful in this role you should have experience in:
- Computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies
- Communication methods, principles, and concepts that support the network infrastructure
- Information Technology (IT) security principles and methods (e.g. firewalls, demilitarised zones, encryption)
- Network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g. application of defense-in-depth)
- In implementing, maintaining, and improving established network practices
- In configuring and utilising computer protection components (e.g. hardware firewalls, servers, routers, as appropriate)
- In using network management tools to analyse network traffic patterns and interpreting the information collected
- In securing network communications
It is Desirable if you have:
- Experience with both public (Azure, AWS, GCP) and private (VMware, Nutanix) cloud environments.
- Tactical, operational, and strategic level cyber threat intelligence skills.
- Understanding of current challenges and opportunities in uplifting the cyber maturity of OT and ICS environments.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with a ,current negative vetting 1 clearance.
