Our client is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join their support services team. The team is responsible for maintenance and some project work for their clients in the public safety space.
The role:
- Fault finding and repairs of network computers and servers - Eg, break down repairs, database maintenance, user errors, anti-virus, backups, hard drive replacement
- Primarily IT based networking routers, switches, servers
- Work under a field services manager in a strong team
- Perform high level support during implementation, upgrading and maintenance of systems
- Provide leadership to other Support Services Group personnel
- Assist in the development of work estimates and quotations
- Provide customer interface regarding resolution of System issues
- Provide high level support and resolution of customer issues in an agreed timeframe
- Participate in an On-Call roster (1 in 3 weeks)
The candidate:
- IT based networking experience (Core equipment) - routers, switches, servers
- VMware
- Windows based software - reinstall on operating system, wipe clean, reimaging computers
- Wide range of communications products and systems including system installation, commissioning, system fault-finding and exposure to customer issues thereby achieving Total Customer Satisfaction
- Experience with UNIX and windows servers
- Basic understanding of radio networks
- White card
- Understanding of trunked radio systems
It would also be desirable to have the below however not essential:
- Cablers licence
- First aid certificate - the company will pay for course if not
