The Role
The Database Specialist (Cloud) is responsible for database transition to cloud activities including providing technical expertise for design, deployment and support for cloud database migration activities and ongoing support
Key skills and essential Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Cloud database preferably Azure or AWS( Managed instances and Azure SQL VM)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Database Administration on Microsoft SQL Server for large organisations
- Demonstrated skills in automation development and implementation (DEVOPS/infrastructure as code)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team
- Experience in project lifecycle and agile framework for application delivery
- Knowledge of ITIL standards in relation to managing complex environments
- Strong knowledge of cloud administration and principles
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to perform on call and/or after-hours tasks for critical systems where necessary
