You will be working for one of the Largest Telcos in Australia with a strong foothold in the market Nationwide. They are looking for a Front End Developer with at least 2 years expereince. As the Developer you will be instrumental in the development of innovative features from my clients customer portal and sales tools. The tools you will be developing with are Node JS, JSON REST API's and the newest Client-side JS frameworks.

This opportunity is based in Perth City Centre.

The day to day

  • Analysis - Review user stories and feature requests
  • Collaboration - Work with your team (developers, scrum master, analysts and UX) to build-out requirements
  • Design - Convert user stores and requirements into your own DB, API and UI designs
  • Development - Build your designs for DB schema, modules, APIs and UIs
  • Testing - Build unit tests for your features and peer review your teams features
  • Maintenance - Upgrade dependencies, fix bugs, clean code and improve system performance & architecture
  • Document - Write self-documenting code, add code comments and keep wiki updated
  • Code Review - Merge and review code changes for structure and quality


What essentials you will need to bring to the table

  • 2 yrs plus development experience with Node JS
  • Excellent knowledge of Node JS and JSON Rest API conventions
  • Excellent understanding of software engineering principles and SDLC
  • Enthusiasm for new language specs - CSS3 & Above, ES7/ES8
  • Ability to quickly learn and develop with frontend JS frameworks such as Angular JS, React etc…


What desirables you will need to bring to the table

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience with JavaScript templating engines
  • Strong knowledge of a NoSQL & SQL DB
  • Solid experience of source control and build tools e.g. GIT, SVN
