Our client is one of the most successful and high-profile boutique business within the ethical investment society.

Due to outstanding long term investment performance their company has grown fast, resulting in the strategic decision to insource their IT capability around three years ago. Peoplebank has been their exclusive recruitment partner in the journey to build out this capability.

As the next step, they are looking to hire a strong developer to play a lead role in the end-to-end build and evolution of their back-end capability. Working within a small and highly talented development team, you will work directly with business leaders, stakeholders and partners to understand and extend the companies capabilities.

They need a passionate Backend Developer who has strong skills in .Net Core, Azure, API development and Azure. 60% of the role is designing, developing and testing code, 40% of the role is spending time with different people in the business to gather requirements, develop and talk through solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test code in line with release schedules to drive high quality outcomes to solve core business objectives
  • Implementation of integrations between internal and external systems
  • Participate in code and security reviews
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stake holders
  • Provide technical consultation and guidance within the business
  • Contribute to and enhance technical documentation relating to the design, development and implementation of online systems and integrations
  • Ongoing development of their website and online joining form including maintenance, enhancements and trouble shooting
  • Assist in the management of Azure tenancy hosting for online systems
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the fields of software development, secure coding and cloud platforms

Key competencies

  • Highly experienced and competent with C# programming language using .NET framework and .NET Core
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and Object Orientated (OO) principals
  • Experience working in Optimizely CMS or similar CMS
  • Experience using ASP.Net MVC, Designing and building RESTful web services and API integration
  • Ability to design, implement and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Experience working with integration and automation services in Azure, specifically Functions and Logic Apps
  • Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft SQL Management Server (SSMS)
  • Ability to investigate and analyse issues via reading and interpreting log files and stack traces
  • Understanding of CI/CD and version control systems
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of products, JIRA, Confluence and BitBucket
  • Familiar with release processes and change management
  • Creative thinking with good written and communication
  • Ability to prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation
  • Self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision including the capacity to exercise a degree of independence and judgement in the performance of own work
  • Good understanding of product management, agile principles, and development methodologies
  • Experience in delivering to project deadlines and milestones
  • Security focussed with a passion for developing and deploying high quality software solutions
  • Constantly thinking outside the box to solve complex technical problems
  • Interest in and commitment to environmental and ethical issues

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience working in a similar full stack development role
  • Demonstrated track record of working on a website, variety of systems and platforms including maintenance, integrations, change and enhancements
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across an organisation to gather requirements, generate appropriate and effective technical solutions and implement them
  • Financial Services or highly regulated industry experience will be well regarded
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications and Certifications
