About the role

Our client is a leading wealth management organization. They are looking for a Tech Business Manager who will be responsible supporting the management of Technology resources (money, people and time) to maximum benefit of the organization.

This is a 12-month contract role.

This role reports to the Director, Technology Architecture.

You would be involved in:

  • Help to define the key capabilities, engagement models and key partners for the organisation's Technology function
  • Provide input into the Target Technology Operating Model, including defining the capabilities and skills required to deliver agreed products and services
  • Put in place measures to scale the function up and down through the utilisation of "flex" partners within the procurement domain
  • Creating and upkeeping key Technology governance and operating model artefacts, including organisational charts, functional models, Technology policies, frameworks and standards, communication plans and any other artefacts

  • Manages current resources across staff, contingent workgroups and managed service providers and supports development of a prioritised view of future resource requirements (demand) and plans to address this (supply)
  • Develops annual and rolling three-year Technology workforce plans and inputs into the Organisation's workforce management planning;
  • Provides strategic and responsive advice to senior management and other stakeholders as required
  • Drives and facilitates effective collaboration and communications between Technology and the rest of the organization
  • Execute deep dives, audits and health checks of Technology initiatives, based on organisational priority and risk.
  • Manage Technology continuous improvement processes, such as Communities of Practice (CoPs), Kaizen, Lean and Kanban implementation as appropriate.
  • Coordinate financial and change management

To be successful for the role, you would ideally have:

  • Be a qualified technology professional with demonstrated relevant experience across portfolio and project management, technology oversight and governance, procurement and business management;
  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, finance, business or related field of study, or equivalent experience;
  • A qualification or certification in Project Management, such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in Technology oversight and governance, including undertaking health checks and audits
  • Extensive experience in Project and Portfolio Management, delivery and governance;
  • Intermediate/advanced excel skills, comfortable using pivot tables and V lookups
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement frameworks and processes in a Technology domain;
  • Experience implementing different project and BAU delivery models including, Agile, Kanban, ITIL, waterfall, iterative and hybrid models
  • Experience in government governance and procurement frameworks, including the use of procurement panels and probity requirements
  • Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across Technology;
  • Expertise in portfolio, program and project delivery and governance
