Part-Time Communications Specialist

  • $750-$800p/day Inc Super

Program Overview

Our client is embarking on an ambitious journey of business transformation, redefining their operating model.

Position Overview

As a Communications Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our communication strategy for the business transformation initiative. Working closely with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, project teams, and employees, you will craft compelling messaging, develop communication materials, and execute various communication activities to facilitate understanding, engagement, and buy-in throughout the transformation process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project leaders and subject matter experts to understand the objectives, milestones, and impact of the business transformation initiative.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan tailored to the needs of different stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Create engaging content for internal communication channels, including emails, newsletters, intranet updates, and presentations, to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Support the development of training materials, FAQs, and other resources to address common questions and concerns related to the transformation.
  • Coordinate town hall meetings, focus groups, and other forums to facilitate dialogue, gather feedback, and address employee inquiries regarding the transformation process.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, soliciting feedback and adjusting as needed to ensure clarity and relevance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to project teams and leadership, providing guidance on communication best practices and strategies to enhance engagement and alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in corporate communications, change management, or related fields, preferably within a large-scale transformation environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, concise messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and engaging stakeholders through innovative communication approaches.
  • Familiarity with communication tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office, intranet systems, and social media channels.

Additional Information

  • This is a part-time position, requiring three days per week commitment.
  • The role may require occasional flexibility in hours to accommodate project needs.

The position will be based in Brisbane CBD, with the possibility of WFH arrangements after an agreed period of time, though not initially as you settle into the role.
