Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA

This is a long-term contract role for 6 months with the potential for 3 extensions of 1 month each, located at our client's offices in ACT (Majura Park). The working arrangements entail on-site presence at Canberra Offices for a minimum of 3 days per week.

As the selected candidate, you will:

* Lead the migration of Oracle databases from version 12c to 19c, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.

* Spearhead the Oracle uplift project to migrate existing Oracle databases to OCI.

* Perform routine DBA tasks including database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and patch management.

* Leverage OCI features to optimize database performance and scalability.

* Work closely with IT teams, Solutions Architects, and project managers to plan and execute migration projects.

* Document migration processes, configurations, and post-migration changes.

To be successful in this role you should have:

* Proven experience as an Oracle DBA, with extensive knowledge of Oracle database administration, version 12c and 19c.

* Demonstrated experience in migrating Oracle databases to newer versions and to cloud environments, preferably OCI. * Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and familiarity with cloud services, tools, and best practices.

* Strong understanding of database architecture, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle RAC.

* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills.

* Oracle DBA Certification and OCI Architect Certification are highly desirable.

It is desirable if you have:

* Experience with Oracle Data Guard, Oracle GoldenGate, and backup/recovery techniques.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with Baseline security clearance.
