Peoplebank are exclusively partnering with one of our favourite clients, based in the heart of the Adelaide CBD to recruit a Technical Writer on a permanent, on-going basis. This is a brand new role, with the real opportunity to make it your own!

Indeed, as a talented Technical Writer, you will create and update user documentation for their industry leading software. You will be enthusiastic about communicating complex processes to end users in a friendly and conversational way. You thrive on the challenge of making sleek and professional documentation. You enjoy interacting with people and can talk with people from a broad range of backgrounds to gain a deeper understanding of the products to inform your work. Your vital role will be responsible for a significant portion of the customer relationship. Your writing and creations will oftentimes be the customer's first interaction with my client!

Responsibilities

  • Create user guides, how to guides and in product help for new and existing product features
  • Work on established core products as well as greenfield products and services
  • Work closely with product owners, developers, support staff, and other internal and external stakeholders to deliver results aligned with our mission
  • Create end user documentation for users of differing levels of technical ability, from product level documentation to API exchanges and internal documentation (Confluence)
  • Work with us to create user guides for a scalable, cost-effective, global platform as we expand into international markets

Skills and experience

  • Previous commercial experience working a technical writer
  • Demonstrated ability to write and maintain accurate, approachable, and clean documentation
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude and mindset
  • Ability to create clean and concise videos showcasing key features in the products (desirable)
  • Experience writing scripts for instructional screencast videos and marketing related videos (desirable)
  • Ability to create and work with graphics is desirable above and beyond basic screen grabs (desirable)
