We are looking for capable and adaptable Technical Leads to fill 3 x Technical Lead Applications Stream roles within a large and complex technology program. The Technical Lead will be responsible for the end-to-end technical oversight of the technology solutions within work packages or projects.
The project will remediate current applications using a variety of treatments, such as decommission, quarantine, upgrade, re-platform, replace or develop to a new platform following a set of repeatable patterns. Applications technical experience is mandatory, Security and infrastructure experience desirable.
For one role, we a seeking a candidate with experience in managing Data and Databases including build and migration with a focus on PostgreSQL. The other two roles will be a general technical lead with a mix of primarily of Applications with some Infrastructure and Security experience. These roles may be inter-changeable.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Applications Project Manager, providing technical design and technical delivery coordination, testing and troubleshooting of work packages/projects through development, system integration to production environments
- Provide strong technical leadership in the development and review of technical designs and delivery of end-to-end solutions
- Work with the external vendors, service providers, IT Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Network, business SME's and delivery teams, to ensure IT solutions are designed, secured, delivered and supported appropriately, meeting the solution requirements and ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Proactively identify Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID), for each work package to the Project Manager.
Skills and requirements
- 5+ years' experience as an ICT Technical Lead on Projects.
- Experience on transformation/remediation projects upgrading, quarantine, replace, development or decommissioning of business applications in a complex organisation.
- Experience with Data and Database management (PostgreSQL), build and migration.
- Experience with system design, implementation, data and integration.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with identifying issues with the following programming/scripting languages; JavaScript, Bash, Python, C/C++, Perl, PHP.
- Build and maintain a detailed understanding of the functionality of the specific Bureau applications in scope for remediation to be able to provide advice and guidance to the project team members and stakeholders.
- Experience with Application Performance Management (APM) tools and practices
