Our client is seeking an experienced senior software engineering to work in their service assurance team. The team is responsibe for monitoring and configurations of network devices, servers and applications. The engineer will be providing the capability of forecasting data usage over the network to ensure stability for customer usage.
The role:
- Developing new system for storage and processing of time series data.
- Developing additions to existing RESTish API (Python, Flask)
- Supporting in house network management system in Python and Perl, admin Ubuntu linux.
- Adding new features to Web Based platform (PHP, Smarty)
- Network Management Services / OSS System Admin
- Supporting monitoring applications - Nagios
- This is a senior engineering position that will suit an applicant who can come up with innovative solutions to technology problems and take the lead on development
The candidate:
- Desirable - Degree qualified and/or 5+ years' experience
- Desirable - previous experience in Release Management, Puppet, database management (mysql or postgres)
- Extensive experience and appreciation of the software development lifecycle including emphasis on test environments, testing methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps approaches to problem solving with an emphasis on getting the job done
- SCRUM and agile experience an advantage, particularly as a SCRUM master.
- Knowledge and Appreciation of technology trends and direction
- Some database experience in MySQL
- Network Management Services / OSS System Admin
