Large Retailer based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne

Qualifications, experience and knowledge

  • Expert in user experience design practices for digital platforms, ideally in a retail environment
  • 5+ years experience in a creative or design role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A strategic thinker, a futurist and an early adopter with a passion for design, technology and the customer.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC processes\methodologies\frameworks, with proven experience in Agile and Lean startup.
  • Strong experience managing 3rd party vendors to develop solutions at pace
  • Understanding of current and emerging technologies and potential business opportunities
  • Awareness of technology and market trends in the retail sector
  • Ability to design proof of concepts where applicable
  • Confident in working with stakeholders to gain buy in and sign off of design/prototype executions
  • Experience designing for responsive websites,
    in store digital, apps and mobile interfaces
  • Experience in identifying, designing and testing innovations projects covering customer experience, team member experience and operations


Competencies and skills:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills including the ability to influence, build credibility and gain commitment
  • Expert in modern design technologies (tools such as Adobe creative suite, Axure RP, Balsamiq or UXPin)
  • Able to work in a lean production environment
  • High level of initiative with the ability to deal with multiple projects and experiments simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of our customer
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced and fluid environment

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, design and test innovations
  • Build wireframes, page builds (and optionally artwork if that's a flare) for trailing with customers and team members
  • Experience with Research, including qualitative research; planning, conducting and synthesising
  • Lead the discovery and design phase in innovation projects
  • Experience in leading and developing innovation projects, using human centred design methodologies
  • Implementation of business change (digital, physical and/or process)
  • Provide support to other functions to progress ideas into trial phase for measurement
  • Understand and research global trends, including technology trends which are impacting retail and how to take advantage for the benefit of the customers and stores
  • Ensure engagement across the business to deliver projects in line with business expectations
  • Contribute to service design and blueprinting, prototyping, trials, analysis and implementation of innovation projects
  • Perform business case analysis to drive out business objectives, business benefits and risks
  • Utilise and promote best practice
  • Facilitate workshops using service design and agile methodologies to drive successful outcomes
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and product owners
  • Lead the vision, strategy and values within the team and across the organisation
  • Accountable for a safe workplace by identifying and reporting safety concerns and leading by example by maintaining a safe working environment and demonstrating safe working behaviour
