Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work within multi-discipline delivery teams, following agile principles to support development of new IT systems.

This is an initial 10 ½ contract with 1x12-month extension option, located at our Client's Canberra location.

As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Engaging with business stakeholders to understand their needs and express these as user stories and requirements.
  • Conducting research and in-depth analysis of existing business processes, data, and products. Collaborating with subject matter experts, end users, product owners, architects, developers, database administrators and testers to design and deliver solutions.
  • Work in an agile way focused on iterative value delivery using lean/DevOps approaches.
  • Supporting the team's delivery managers. Sprint planning with delivery teams.
  • Sprint ceremonies and continuous improvement.
  • Be part of a progressive and modern delivery team responsible for transforming the client's digital services and delivering innovative customer-centric solutions.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Demonstrated ability to confidently elicit and define epics, user stories & acceptance criteria following best practice principles as well as identifying elicit and define non-functional requirements (NFR) using NFR catalogues or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to Facilitate interviews, workshops, and document analysis, as well as working closely with stakeholders in order elicit needs and develop a shared understanding of current processes.
  • Ability to proactively consider and undertake work to identify gaps, potential waste and suggest improvements. Apply and monitor appropriate use of modelling and analysis tools, methods, and standards.
  • Experience applying Business Analysis practice to Business Problems supporting solution development in an emerging technology area.
  • A good understanding of the system development lifecycle.

It is desirable if you have:

  • A demonstrable passion for innovation and a dedication to working collaboratively building strong relationships with stakeholders, while considering individual views and ideas and tailoring the approach.
  • Industry certification or relevant ICT qualifications such as International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
  • Proactive with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Managing issues arising during delivery of a release and determining when they require escalation and Managing project activities and releases using Agile methodologies.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian who have active Baseline Clearance.
