We are currently recruiting for a Platform Engineer to Design, test, deploy, integrate, operate and administer a range of off-the-shelf, custom and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS ICT systems and platforms for a Federal Government Agency.
About the role
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the design, implementation, administration and maintenance of the client's web, middleware, and application hosting technology stack. This stack includes application load balancing and firewalling (F5, AWS WAF), web app platforms (JBoss, IIS, Tomcat), and data management platforms (Pega, Informatica and Confirmit), and is involved in the use and operation of the client's continuous integration/deployment and devops tooling (Jenkins, Octopus Deploy and Git).
Responsibilities

- conduct technical research as required and understand technology directions and industry trends

- liaise with clients and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues

Skills and experience
- Ability to Design, test, deploy, integrate, operate and administer a range of off-the-shelf, custom and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS ICT systems, platforms and solutions to best meet functional and non functional needs. Including, but not limited to:
- Web, Middleware and Application Hosting Platform skills and experience:
- Web application platforms (JBoss, IIS, Tomcat)
- Public Cloud Platform and Services Administration:
- Amazon Web Services (Firewall Manager, EC2, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Cloud9)
- CI/CD and Infrastructure-As-Code Pipeline Methods:
- Scripting and Automation Techniques (yaml, json) and associated tools (Visual Studio Code)
- Version Control and Code Repositories (GIT)
- Authentication (ADFS/SAML) and SSO models
- Containerisation tools and technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/ECR/EKS)
