About the role

The Technology Architect, End User Computing (EUC) will be working in a team environment within Technology Delivery Group with multiple stakeholders, vendors and partners

The Technology Architect, End User Computing (EUC) will ensure that all elements of a technical design are correctly incorporated into proposed project delivery solutions, to define the associated integrations and environmental elements around all Modern for example Microsoft Workplace and End User Computing related technologies as required for an Enterprise environment. This role is also part of the Architecture group who are responsible for Technology Strategy across this enterprise organisation and you will a subject matter expert for all End User Computing and applicable Microsoft technologies

Working with Project Teams, Chief Architect and IT Ops Teams, the responsibilities of the EUC Architect will include being the communication link between Project Manager, Application Architect, Data Architect, Security Architect, Infrastructure Architect, Enterprise Architects, Network Specialists, OT Specialists and Application/Infra/Security/Network Engineers.


Responsibilities

It is expected that the EUC Architect will combine present and future state architecture, to propose end state architecture strategies and assist project teams to shape architectures consistent with platforms, roadmaps and standards for architect and design. This will include migration / transition approach to achieving project outcomes, alignment to EUC Domain Roadmaps as applicable and includes:

* expert technical guidance, technical document creation and review, project communications and escalation of key technical architecture issues that cannot be resolved in the team.
* Define and work with Domain Architecture teams to execute the Data Centre & capabilities target state strategy and roadmap in line with the Technology and Corporate strategy through for example creating architecture blueprints and designs.
* Developing EUC strategies to support a hybrid environment between on-premises and azure for the enterprise.
* Engage stakeholders and present in forums on EUC architecture solutions and best practices.
* Work with vendors across projects to ensure that the EUC landscape and services are built in an efficient and robust manner providing a high level of maintainability, and reliability.
* Design a Microsoft-centric End User Computing (EUC) environment to ensure productivity, security and management of user experience and overarching modern technology portfolio to provide a productive and secure enterprise and mobile workforce.
Assist with development and management of roadmaps associated with the evolution of key EUC capabilities, understanding their relationships and dependencies
* Manage enterprise clients running Windows including relevant security and management technologies to provide a secure and scalable end user computing platform through usage of SCCM, Enterprise Mobility & Security, MDM, IDM, InTunes, Office 365, etc.
* Define, implement and manage processes and procedures used to manage the computing environment including mobile device management, application selfservice, software packaging and distribution, image build and distribution, deployment processes and management, inventory management, backup and restore during migration, profile management, patch deployment, client provisioning, etc.;
* Provide design and troubleshooting of Active Directory and Group Policy as it pertains to the Windows client environment, skilled at Group Policy security design and best practices as pertains to hardening and compliance.
* Advise on Endpoint management through the usage of Windows 10 Security features: Group Policy, Security baselines, Credential Guard, Device Guard, Health Attestation, Bit Locker, Secure & Measured Boot, Windows Hello, and Multi-Factor Authentication, Antivirus and Malware defence.
* Advise on Co-Management and Mobile Device Management (MDM) through the usage of MDM technologies including Device Management, policy management, and security.
* Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
* Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
* Continually drive alignment between product, technical requirements, architecture design and detailed implementation.
* Serve as a point of contact as required for system-level engineering questions and issues that may arise relating to EUC.
* Guide documentation efforts for a EUC engineering system, in some cases creating system documentation as required.
* Provide a view of technical risk based on analysis and technology readiness.

* Design and architect solutions with vendors/partners for projects to meet the defined architectural strategies, operational principles and is aligned with industry best practice.
* Participate in project business cases technology program requirements specification gathering exercises including functional and non-functional.
* Manage the design of EUC & applicable Security components in support of project solution designs.
* Champion Architectural Review Board approval of conceptual and solution architecture for EUC related solutions.
* Supports the procurement and deployment of IT and EUC Infrastructure to deliver reliable and cost-efficient services.
* Provide strategic direction to the planning and provision of technical support and service delivery for EUC services.
* Maintain an awareness of enterprise level technologies, solutions, and industry trends across EUC Domain.
* Build and sustain relationships with customers, expert users, and service providers.
* Drives continuous improvement activities to promote best practice and progress effective business and systems operations through standardisation and improvement simplification.
* Builds capability through delivery of process and technology solution to deliver improved performance in line with the Technology Division strategic plans and objectives.



Skills and experience


* Must have an advanced understanding of EUC technology and enterprise technology architecture & principles
* Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies
* Experience in developing enterprise level EUC Architectural solutions.
* Bachelor's degree level or equivalent including a minimum of 7 years' experience in IT architectural and design roles
* 5+ years of experience designing and leading IT solutions development/delivery in a customer or stakeholder-facing role
* 4+ years of architecture experience across one or multiple products, systems and/or platforms (Microsoft technologies strongly preferred)
* Expert in implementing and managing Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive.
* Expert in Windows Operating System Deployment using SCCM Task sequences for new, refresh, replace, and upgrade scenarios. Must have experience with Windows as a Service (WaaS) servicing model, preferably design, and support experience in modern workplace device management etc.
* Experience with Asset Management systems including design and integration with Configuration Management environments to support overall business needs for license management.
* Experience with software packaging and distribution.
* Expert with Microsoft Graph, SQL queries, excel, PowerShell, and windows scripting technologies. Report creation and writing using PowerBI or Excel is recommended. Usage of Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit, Desktop or Windows analytics desirable.
* Experience with Desktop as a Service (DaaS) technologies and delivery using either Citrix or Microsoft Azure
* Familiarity with APIs, middleware, technical architecture design, testing

TECHNICAL SKILLS

* Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, including Windows 10, Enterprise Mobility + Security, Intune and SCCM (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager)
* Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM/MAM) across both IOS and Android platforms
* Experience with Zero trust type architecture with EUC and IDAM
* Knowledge and understanding of enterprise networks and integration with SaaS platforms
* Experienced in developing project timelines, budget planning and creating bill of materials from High Level Designs
* Familiarity with O365 services including Exchange Online, Office Pro Plus, SharePoint Online Conditional Access and Azure Active Directory.
* Familiarity with EUC security products preferred; Antivirus, Malware protection, email threat detection, Data Loss Prevention, Rights Management and SIEM solutions.
