Role - Application Support Specialist

Permanent, Salaried role

About the role

This role is required to provide 2nd level support for a custom-built application. The Application Support Specialist will work collaboratively with customers as well as internally within the development and testing teams. This role will involve configuration changes, bug fixes, solving operational queries, performing reporting and analysis, and providing consultancy to the customer on aspects relating to the application.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to and resolving customer requests and incidents, within defined timeframes or escalate for resolution.
  • Code fixes or peer review of fixes to the application.
  • Maintain and operate an organised register of requests.
  • Regular reporting on the requests received and outcomes.
  • Documenting and maintaining an application knowledge base and procedures.
  • Review application data to ensure compliance, provide consultancy to the customer.


Skills and experience

  • Programming skills - .Net, C# or VB
  • Ability to analyse problem, find cause and/or gather relevant context for investigation highly desirable
  • Good command of productivity tools - e.g., spreadsheets, flowcharts, CRM tools
  • ServiceNow ticketing system experience/ knowledge
  • Previous experience in Application /Production Support roles
  • Understanding of ITIL methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
