About the role

The main focus of the role will on the specification, design, development, documentation and testing plus maintenance of software components.



Responsibilities

Software Development & Maintenance: Contribute to creating and managing software components and related simulators for a specific system.

Understanding & Specifying: Gain insight into the operational use of the system and assist in specifying software components accordingly.

Design, Implement, & Test: Create, implement, and test software components to meet specified requirements.

Documentation & Reviews: Produce necessary documents and participate in software and documentation reviews.

Guidance & Support: Offer technical guidance to junior engineers and assist in task prioritization.

Task Management: Plan, prioritize, and deliver tasks within agreed timelines, reporting any issues promptly.

Stakeholder Engagement: Foster good relationships with internal and, when possible, external stakeholders.

Compliance & Adaptability: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and remain adaptable to handle additional assigned duties.



Skills and experience

  • Must be an Australian Citizen with NV1 Clearance or higher
  • Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, computer science, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years' experience in one or more of the OOP languages
    • Java
    • C++
    • C#
    • Python
  • Familiarity with procedural and Object-Oriented paradigms
  • Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, DDS, Git, Clearcase, Automated Test Frameworks
  • Experience in Linux
