Our Federal Government client is looking for an experienced Linux Engineer for an initial 12 months contract plus extensions.

The Linux Engineer will be responsible for:

• Run and maintain core IT services, upon which all other IT services are based. Including; data centres, servers, virtualization, operating systems, storage, backup, time, logging, email, domain name resolution, web proxying and security.
• Securely manage connections to/from the internet and other government networks.
• Perform daily security monitoring and risk mitigations across the oragnization's IT environment.
• Meeting project and BAU requirements.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven Linux Engineering experience
• Virtualisation (VMware)
• Block and file storage (Pure Storage)
• Backup (Cohesity
• Log index/search (Splunk)
• Monitoring (Zabbix, Splunk
• DNS (BIND
• NTP
• SMTP (Postfix)
• web proxying (Squid and Forcepoint/Websense)
• RSA SecurID

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian Citizen and has an active Baseline or NV1 Clearance.
