Junior Business Analyst

  • 12 months initial contract with mentorship and training
  • Great opportunity for Testers/Developers to become Business Analysts
  • Australian PR or Citizenship mandatory

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Business Analyst to join our client on a 12-month contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with a background in software testing or development who is keen to make a career transition into a Business Analyst position.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our ongoing project to transition away from legacy technologies to new, modern .Net applications. This position demands a unique blend of technical understanding, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between the development and testing teams and the project management office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to support the transition from legacy systems to .Net applications.
  • Translate technical information from testers and developers and into clear, concise, and understandable documents for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, testers, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are accurately implemented and aligned with business goals.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather insights, validate requirements, and promote a mutual understanding between technical and business teams.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project, including requirement specifications, process flows, and user guides.
  • Assist in the quality assurance process, including identifying test scenarios, reviewing test plans, and ensuring the alignment of test outcomes with business requirements.
  • Monitor project progress with the Project Managers, identifying potential issues and proposing effective solutions to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a software testing or development role, with a keen interest in transitioning to a business analyst position.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into business-friendly language.
  • Outstanding organisational and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, process analysis, and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools is advantageous.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business Analysis, or a related field.

Benefits:

This is more than an entry-level position; it is a growth and development program the successful candidate will go through during full-time working with the client as part of their role.

The participant will receive formal monthly mentoring, monthly professional skills development workshops, an Australian Computer Society Membership, access to Business Analyst certification, technical workshops, ACS Accelerator individual learning pathways, and SFIA skills assessments throughout.
