Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Business Analyst.

This is a fixed-term role until 31/03/2025, with the possibility of extension, located at our client's offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, or Canberra.

As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Work with stakeholders to design, capture, and communicate target business processes and requirements to enable delivery of a solution that meets end-user and ABS business and non-functional requirements.
  • Act as a key liaison between the product owner/business team and the technical delivery team.
  • Support the Product Owner in ensuring priorities and the work delivered meet business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Scrum Master to ensure BA practices align with Agile practices for the project.
  • Work with the UX Specialist to ensure UX is considered in requirements.
  • Facilitate selected agile ceremonies such as feature walkthroughs, T-shirt sizing, and backlog refinement.
  • Ensure requirements and key decisions for the next sprint are finalized in advance.
  • Manage the lifecycle of Jira stories in each sprint, ensuring their status is updated accordingly.
  • Manage the Jira portfolio view of ASP features, epics, and stories.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Ability to get up to speed on established projects and pick up work that is in progress.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to elicit and document relevant stakeholder and solution requirements.
  • Ability to model business analysis artifacts following industry standards including BPMN 2.0 and UML (Business Process Model and Notation; Unified Modeling Language).
  • Experience in business analysis in agile projects, describing features and user stories, and working in agile/scrum teams to refine and assist in prioritizing backlog items.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and pursue process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a virtual team environment.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with a Baseline security clearance.
