Our Federal Government Client is seeking four (4) Business Analysts.

This is a long-term contract role with an initial contract duration of Contract to 30 June 2024, with the possibility of two 12-month extensions, located at our client's offices in ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, and VIC. Flexible working arrangements including some working from home may be considered after commencement, but still requires a minimum of 3 days per week.

As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Apply specialist skills to assist in the development of key projects within the section.
  • Initiate, define, document, and deliver business analyst artefacts.
  • Gather requirements and functional specifications from a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Prepare, perform, and coordinate elicitation of requirements, including brainstorming, workshops, prototyping, observation, or interviews.
  • Analyze business impacts, client management processes and procedures, and validate solutions.
  • Mentor team members to develop in-house BA skills.
  • Build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders to improve processes.
  • Plan and execute the transition of operational areas to the new arrangements based on business impact analysis and 'As Is - To Be' modeling.
  • Collaborate with others to clearly define and clarify business needs to create an action plan, solution report, or business case for consideration.
  • Gather and analyze core requirements and concerns to meet the Department's business objectives.
  • Assess the current state of the business to identify and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis to increase engagement with a range of key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and lead communication across business units and represent the agency both internally and externally.
  • Prepare, review, and contribute to clear business and stakeholder requirement documentation.
  • Support user acceptance testing to ensure that deliverables accurately reflect the requirements.
  • Support the change manager in the development of change artefacts to enable the successful implementation of requirements.
  • Support the project team to produce departmental-specific artefacts as required.
  • Participate in Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) ceremonies.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • At least five years of experience in providing business analysis capability across Federal Government.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management.
  • High level understanding of business value related to features and functions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate business analysis and requirements gathering workshops.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering BA artefacts.

It is desirable if you have:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in software engineering, product development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet extremely tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively and monitor the tasks of team members to meet project milestones.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with a the ability to obtain a BASELINE security clearance.
