Our Federal Government client is seeking the services of a motivated and creative Visual Basic Analyst/Programmer to support Excel-based systems. The role will be an initial 6-month contract with a 12-month extension option and is working from Canberra's North.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong attention to detail and an ability to think creatively and flexibly to come up with solutions to new problems. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, including how to identify complex computing problems, handle abstractions, prepare technical solution designs and validate solutions as required.
The ideal Candidate will have a proven record of coding software solutions for workplaces and experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is essential. Experience with text string processing/ pattern recognition is highly desirable.
Skills required
- Strong interest and experience in coding and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
- Experience in analysing / cleaning large datasets.
- An ability to recognise patterns in text strings/ sequences of strings, and to use string manipulation techniques to extract relevant pieces of information.
- An ability to maintain web scraping code as websites change, requiring a flexible approach
