Job Title: APS6 Senior Cyber Security engineer
Location: Canberra /Hybrid working arrangement
Duration: 12 months with possible extension


The APS 6 Cyber Security Engineer is accountable under broad direction to undertake complex work across the Cyber Security functions. The role reports to the Assistant Director, CSOC Capability Development under the leadership of the Director Cyber Security Operations.
The successful candidate will work in a small team to develop and deliver capabilities for use by the Security Operations Centre (SOC). The capabilities include process engineering, uplift tasks and collaboration on large enterprise scale cyber security solutions.
The Cyber Security Engineer will also work closely with the SOC and other ICT teams to deliver capabilities.

Duties
* Demonstrated enterprise experience in either of the following - Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI), Vulnerability Management or Cyber Security Engineering.
* Demonstrated experience in enterprise scale SIEM engineering.
* Curating reports, producing, and maintaining technical and project documentation to stakeholders.
* Identifying, planning, and implementing enhancements to the Agency's defensible cyber security capabilities.
* Familiarity with cyber threat modelling techniques, and experience developing systems specific use cases, monitoring plans and cyber security incident response plans.
* Experience with cloud security tooling and cloud platforms (SOAR, Endpoint Security, AWS, Azure, O365)
* Work autonomously with limited direction and identify and drive work through to completion.
* Communicate with influence to ensure deliverables are aligned to Corporate Plan and organisation goals.

Essential Criteria
* Demonstrated enterprise experience in either Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI), Vulnerability Management or Cyber Security Engineering.
* Demonstrated experience in enterprise scale SIEM engineering.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens and can obtain security clearance.
