About the company:
A prominent healthcare organization based in East Perth is currently seeking a skilled SQL Server Database Administrator.
The role:
Our client is looking for a talented SQL Server Database Administrator to join their team for a 3 - 6 month engagement. The primary responsibility will be migrating an existing SQL 2016 server onto a SQL 2022 platform.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all database servers are backed up in accordance with RPO.
- Test backups to meet RTO standards.
- Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages promptly.
- Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms.
- Install, migrate, and configure new SQL Servers.
- Deploy database change scripts provided by third-party vendors.
- Address performance issues effectively, including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query optimizations.
Key experience:
- Proficiency with SQL 2016 - SQL 2022.
- Experience with failover clustering and availability groups.
- Strong background in performance tuning.
- Comprehensive understanding of database partitioning.
Desirable experience:
- Familiarity with hardware procurement and server configuration adjustments for performance enhancement.
