About the Role:
As a Senior Microsoft Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft cloud solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of cloud technologies into our existing infrastructure and operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Microsoft cloud services, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest developments in cloud computing.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement Microsoft cloud solutions, including Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings in accordance with best practices and organisational requirements
- Configuration and ongoing administration of Microsoft 365 tenancies
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and system administrators to optimise cloud architecture and performance
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and security
- Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud deployment, management, and maintenance processes
- Review existing cloud infrastructure to ensure solutions continue to meet the needs of the Department
- Maintain documentation of cloud configurations, procedures, and standards to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders on Microsoft cloud-related matters
- Complete a diverse range of technical tasks within a secure environment
Selection Criteria:
- Proven experience architecting and implementing Microsoft cloud solutions, including Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings in accordance with best practices and organisational requirements
- Proven experience in configuration and administration of Microsoft 365 tenancies
- Collaboration with architects, developers, and system administrators to optimise cloud architecture and performance
- Skills in monitoring and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and security
- Skills in implementation of automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud deployment, management, and maintenance processes.
- Ability to review existing cloud infrastructure to ensure solutions continue to meet the needs of the Department, including liaising with non-technical business areas
- Ability to maintain documentation of cloud configurations, procedures, and standards to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance
- Possess generalist skills to complete a diverse range of technical tasks within a secure environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a proactive and autonomous manner · Previous experience in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code is also desirable
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies
- A working knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM), the Protective Security Framework Policy (PSFP), and other International Standards (ISO's)
