Principal Data Analyst:

  • 6 months initial contract with possible extension
  • Based in Perth CBD, hybrid work culture

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Analyst to join our client's Data Migration team for the HRMIS program. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the HRMIS Datamart, ensuring data integrity, and developing robust data solutions.

Responsibilities:

Data Manipulation and Definition:

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries using Microsoft and Oracle databases.
  • Perform data manipulation language (DML) and data definition language (DDL) operations to support data migration and maintenance tasks.

Data Warehouse and ETL:

  • Utilize strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes.
  • Develop and maintain data models to support the HRMIS Datamart.

Power BI Development and Management:

  • Develop, manage, and deploy dataflows, semantic models, and reports in Power BI.
  • Write and optimize DAX code for complex calculations and data analysis.
  • Manage Power BI workspaces, including roles and user access.
  • Implement and manage deployment pipelines for Power BI reports and datasets.

Power Apps Development:

  • Develop, test, and manage app solutions using Power Apps to support the HRMIS program.

Data Quality and Integrity:

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability throughout the data migration process.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with the data migration team.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Provide expertise and support to team members on SQL, data warehousing, and Power BI.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL with experience in Microsoft and Oracle databases.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modelling.
  • Managing Power BI workspaces and user access.
  • Implementing deployment pipelines for Power BI reports.
  • Experience with large-scale data migration projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
