Carseldine location (50% work from home flexibility)

Initial 12 months + 2 x 12 month extensions

We are seeking a Platform Engineer to provide high-level technical support capabilities for our state government client, The platforms, hosted on AWS Cloud, are a collection of modern IT tools and practices that accelerate the delivery of customer-oriented flexible business solutions.

The role will primarily focus on the installation of Karpenter into the clint's AWS Microservice and MuleSoft RTF platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed technical knowledge of the systems and services, including an understanding of business usage.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical standards and support documentation.
  • Develop high-quality DevOps friendly platform components that bake in scalability, fault tolerance, and security.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency by automating existing processes.
  • Prioritize your workload and resolve support issues of varying severity within expected time frames.
  • Champion best practices and provide hands-on technical support to accelerate Cloud learning among peers.
  • Work with quality assurance specialists to ensure your deliverables have an appropriate level of unit-, integration- and/or functional tests.

Requirements:

  • Experience in one or more of the following technologies: AWS, EKS/Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Karpenter.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the lifecycle patching required for our microservice platform.
  • Knowledge of Cloud environment security best practices.
  • Proficiency in writing easy-to-read technical documentation.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and cohesively in a team-based environment.
  • AWS Associate or Professional level certifications highly regarded.
  • Current and varied experience across public and private sector is highly desirable.
  • Experience in installing Karpenter into AWS EKS/Kubernetes environment
  • Knowledge of MuleSoft RTF platform would be of an advantage
