Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Data Solutions Specialist
This is a long-term contract role for 12 months with an extension term of 12 months for a total of 24 months, located at our client's office in ACT.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Lead data discovery, analysis, and design activities, facilitating critical stakeholder contribution across business and technical disciplines.
- Lead and contribute to the design, testing, and evolution of a range data architecture artefacts including data dictionaries, data catalogues, data access policies, and data models.
- Plan and execute data load and migration activities (using both ELT, and ETL practices) to new and legacy solutions operating on a diverse range of technologies including Azure Data Stack, M365 DataVerse, On-premises SQL.
- Work within an Agile (Scrum) SAFe Multi-Disciplinary team with minimum direction.
- Participate in internal and external working groups, including with vendors and other government agencies to contribute to data related discussions.
- Work with other team members to plan, define, manage, and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases to ensure business needs are fully captured, developed, tested, and deployed.
- Articulate and champion business data needs to the delivery teams.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Demonstrated 5+ years experience working as an Enterprise Data Architect/Analyst within an Azure cloud data ecosystem.
- Formal qualifications in data architecture from either a data science (DAMA), data engineering (Azure Data Engineering Associate), or data solutions engineering (AZ303/304) discipline.
- A strong understanding of government policy and legislation pertaining to the capture, storage, use, and disposal of data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with respect to managing stakeholder engagement and delivery teams.
It is desirable if you have:
- Demonstrated experience working in and with Database Administration teams to establish a mutual understanding of existing SQL Infrastructure and Azure data platform.
- Experience in the Design, Provisioning, configuration, and management of Azure cloud-based data platforms including, Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse, , Azure SQL (MI and Elastic), Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks.
- Experience in the design, provisioning, management, and monitoring of Microsoft DataVerse technologies including Graph.
- Design and implement ETL and ELT processes to migrate and consolidate new and existing data sets from on-premises SQL Server databases, flat files, SharePoint, via API's and Azure data stores.
- Automate deployment of data platform components using PowerShell, DevOps, and Azure Automation.
- Document detailed design and processes for data platform provisioning, pipelines, and data stores.
