Our Federal Government Client is seeking for a Data Solution Architect to be part of small multi-disciplinary team focussed on developing end-to-end solution architecture to support the Client's Enterprise Data Warehouse, data & analytics projects providing effective business outcomes.

The Data Solution Architect will be responsible for development of the technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to data and data platform/systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architectural plan. The successful candidate will have experience in a technical team focused on the ingestion, integration and effective use of data on an Enterprise Data Warehouse platform.

  • Deliver solution architecture and design documentation understanding the enterprise patterns and data technology and applying industry best practice frameworks, patterns, and technologies including on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Improvement of work processes, and the development/implementation of standards, processes and procedures required to ensure that the team is working productively and to a high capacity.
  • Embed strong leadership practices focussed on developing our workforce and collectively plan for improving capability.
  • Expertise in Azure DevOps and a working knowledge of SharePoint; and
  • Contribute towards knowledge and skills transfer.

Essential Criteria

  • 5+ years' years of experience in data architect roles or solution architect role in data warehouse space;
  • Understand complex information systems and design effective data solutions and models to store and retrieve departmental data in adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Prepare and champion architectural artefacts such as Solution Architectures, Design Standards, Data Strategies to business executive, architecture forums as well as to technical staff.
  • Recommend solutions and patterns for improving processes in existing or new systems/capabilities.
  • Support the iterative design and definition of common entities in the Enterprise Data Model
  • Work collaboratively in Scaled Agile Framework team to deliver contemporary data solutions, prototypes in a hybrid hyperscale cloud environment.
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality, well-structured communication that is fit-forpurpose.
  • Technical competency and ability to communicate technical information and designs including interpreting, analysing and presenting based on the target audience.
  • Cloud, hybrid-cloud, or cloud-migration experience with a demonstrated understanding of the benefits and limitations of new paradigms of data management in the cloud.

Capabilities Required

  • Experience with data modelling, data modelling patterns and enterprise data models.
  • Understanding of Data Warehouse Patterns
  • Technology Integration skillset

The role has an initial 12-month contract with two (2) possible 12-month contract extensions. The services will be performed by the Specified Personnel from the Canberra/Brisbane office, with minimum 3 full days per week in the office.

Candidates must be Australian citizens with active AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
