Job Title: Data Modeller/Architect
Location: Canberra
Duration: 12 months with possible extension

As part of the modernisation project those applications will be decommissioned and replaced with enterprise capabilities and technologies that is within vendor support. As a result of this the project is seeking to engage a senior business analyst with strong experience with data domain to work alongside the business, technical team and architects to review those applications, business processes and produce the following: Information data model, ER Model, Data Flow Diagram, Data Dictionary and Specifications for the Dashboard and Reports.

Duties
1. Design and document data models and ETL processes to ensure data quality and consistency.

2. Investigate and document business processes, data sources, and definitions.

3. Develop requirements specifications documents.

4. Develop and maintain data dictionary, data taxonomy and other related artefact.

5. Work with the business and stakeholders to develop reporting and dashboards specification documents.

6. Work alongside the development team to ensure that the reporting and dashboards solutions meet the business need.

7. This position may involve direct supervision of staff.


Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge

1. 10+ years' experience as a Data Modeller (mandatory).

2. Strong experience in analysing and documenting business requirements using User Stories, Business Process Maps, Use Case, User Journeys, FPS and SSS.

3. Strong knowledge of data analytics, data modelling and database structure systems.

4. Strong experience with SQL coding language for data analysis.

5. Experience with Power BI for data visualisation and Business Intelligence tools

6. Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS.

7. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

9. Ability to work proactively, autonomously and collaboratively.

10. Strong experience with Agile Software Development

11. Strong experience developing user stories and using tools such as Azure DevOps
