Our Federal Government Client is looking for a Cyber Security Architect who will be an experienced information security architecture specialist with a sound understanding of the Information Security Manual, ACSC Essential Eight Maturity Model, Protective Security Policy Framework and other relevant industry frameworks, including experience in systems, solutions or enterprise architecture roles.

This is an initial contract for 12 months with possible 2x12-month contract extension options. This role is open to Australian Citizens with active AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance. The successful candidate is expected to work full time, 8 hours/day, at the Client's Canberra office, however flexible working arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis i.e. (3 days in office + 2 days from home).

The Client currently utilises the SFIA global skills and competency framework to provide a common standard for describing base role requirements and level classifications. The applicable SFIA role description/skill level is as follows:

Requirement:

The Cyber Security Architect will be required to:

  • Further develop and refine the department's enterprise security architecture framework and services catalogue.
  • Effectively engage with stakeholders on cyber security architecture activities, including the development and refinement of security architecture patterns.
  • Provide expert risk, assurance and compliance advice to business areas to understand, identify and document key controls to ensure key risks and compliance obligations are adequately managed.
  • Provide representation at technical committee and advisory board meetings, providing expert security architecture advice to facilitate the secure delivery of ICT services in support of the department's international mission objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholder across the division, department and portfolio.
  • Assist with the team's management of competing priorities, delivering outcomes in line with the department's cyber security strategy, ICT business plan, and departmental mission objectives.
