About the role
We are seeking a CMDB specialist for an initial 3-month contract. You will play a key role in designing and implementing a robust Configuration Management Database (CMDB) solution. Working with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of the CMDB, with a focus on hardware and software lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of the CMDB solution, ensuring accurate representation of configuration items (CIs), relationships, and dependencies within the IT environment.
- Develop and implement processes for hardware and software lifecycle management, including asset discovery, inventory management, version control, and retirement procedures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define use cases, and ensure alignment with business needs and objectives.
- Provide expertise and guidance on configuration management best practices, ITIL principles, and industry standards.
- Document CMDB configurations, processes, and procedures, and provide training and support to end users as needed
Skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing CMDB solutions in enterprise IT environments.
- Experience with ServiceNow platform is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of hardware and software lifecycle management processes and best practices.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and its configuration management processes.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
