Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Automation Test Engineer!
This is a long-term contract role (initial contract until 30 June 2024, with extension options), located in Phillip, Canberra.
As the selected Senior Automation Test Engineer, you will:
- Take ownership of identifying automation scope for functional, regression, and performance testing, building test frameworks and suites.
- Assist with functional and performance automation estimation, structure, and execution under the direction of the Automation and Performance Test Lead.
- Report automation results with details and identified defects.
- Support the Automation team to deliver automation scripts on time for releases, based on defined scope, and report status updates to the Test Manager.
- Support the testing team with hands-on test execution using tools like SOAPUI, ReadyAPI, and Selenium.
- Enhance and improve the current automated framework.
- Contribute to training other testers and relevant staff.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Essential:
- Demonstrated high-level experience in automation testing activities within complex IT environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks for both functional and performance testing.
- Ability to provide guidance to other testers on the implementation and process of automated testing frameworks.
- Current experience in Selenium, Jenkins, Subversion, and Java development.
- Experience automating API tests using SOAP UI/ReadyAPI.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong liaison abilities and the ability to contribute to training others.
- Desirable:
- 6+ years of experience in automated testing.
- 3+ years of experience with performance testing.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with a Baseline security clearance.
