The Scrum Master is responsible for the following:
* Works with the Product Owner, providing a check and balance between getting more done and maintaining high quality and efficiency.
* Focuses the team on the goals of the current iteration, keeping them on track:
* Facilitates sprint planning sessions with the product owner and team
* Makes sure daily stand-ups happen, and are conducted properly
* Facilitates sprint review / showcase sessions
* Facilitates sprint retrospectives and ensure actions are addressed
* Facilitates backlog grooming sessions
* Facilitates immersion sessions with key stakeholders
* Shields the team from diversions and distractions
* Coaches the team in agile best practices
* Helps the team to collaborate better
* Advocates the team's position
* Finds way to remove team impediments
* Makes sure daily stand-ups happen, and are conducted properly
* Encourages transparency and associated metrics
* Understands and explain the team's progress to interested stakeholders
* Arbitrates between team members when necessary
Skills needed:
* Knowledge of banking
* Experience with Business transformation programs
* Can lead and facilitate without authority
* Excellent communication skills
* Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
* Excellent stakeholder management skills
* Strong understanding and application of core agile principles
* Minimum 12 months experience as Scrum Master
* Experience with agile and waterfall approaches
* Experience delivering to aggressive timeframes
* Experience working within banking and finance highly regarded
* Firm grasp of servant leadership and facilitation
* A relentless approach to the pursuit of continuous improvement
* A good relationship with the team and a certain degree of influence
* Self-starter who can work with minimum supervision and direction.
* Being diplomatic without being political
* Ability to facilitate large diverse teams.
