Our client a leader in its field is looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager.
About the role
As a Senior Project Manager working within the Project Delivery Team, you will be responsible for all phases and associated processes of the project management lifecycle. Responsible for supporting the business by enabling the benefits of projects and programs delivery by:
- Providing leadership and delivery responsibility for the development, management, and implementation of the strategic Program plan for Technology infrastructure & network streams
- Demonstrating strategic leadership and direction on navigating a complex IT Operational environment to enable significant change and the realisation of benefits
- Actively developing key relationships with leadership stakeholders to ensure that projects are run effectively and day to day activities align to business expectations
- Conducting Project Management processes including project governance, managing project spend within approved budget, risk and issue management, scheduling, change control, critical path scheduling and dependency management
Essential Skills and Experience
- Min 5 years' experience as an Infrastructure Project Manager
- In depth experience with managing complex infrastructure programs / projects for medium to large organisations
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure including networking, servers, desktop, backup and storage, monitoring & alerting and telephony
- Solid understanding of hosting environments including on-premise, public cloud, private cloud, AWS, Azure and SaaS based services etc
- Solid understanding of popular server and desktop operating systems including Windows, Linux, AIX, virtualisation platforms such as VMWare and associated hardware platforms such as Wintel and pSeries.
- General understanding of security related topics including firewalls, VPN's, network segmentation, threat detection, data encryption, identity management etc
- Experience with drafting Tender/RFP/RFQ for engagement with Solution Providers and System Integrators
- Experience with writing business cases and ability to clearly articulate the value proposition for any given project
- Experience in delivering commercial off the shelf solutions (COTS) or SaaS solutions
- Excellent Communication Skills
