Title: IT DevOps Engineer
Type: Contract

Location: Canberra

Responsibilities
Develop in approved programming language type Python, scala for creation of devops pipelines and data structures on AWS/Azure cloud native technologies that has the ability to integrate with with Cloud and Premise applications
* Provide technical advise on devops processes, governance standards and frameworks
* Provide analyst and support for process and practices to enable devops
* Develop documentation that clearly articulates the design intent, user experience, systems and business processes, issues and risks
* Explain complex information to stakeholders during the design, management and implementation of business change; understand system requirements and leverage expertise to solve problems
* Recognise and understand the issues impacting on systems and recommend solutions that meet operational needs and deliver improvements
* Evaluate the impact of change requests and errors and suggest solutions and mitigation strategies to ensure minimal impact on business operations
* Identify risks with application issues and take these into account when planning and priority setting to meet timeframes and quality requirements
* Work collaboratively, develop own expertise and build the skills of others through knowledge transfer to achieve business outcomes

Configuring and maintaining a code-repository for the Developers to check-in their code
* Configure and manage test environments and notifications
* Application code pre-deployment staging and packaging
* Drive the implementation of Continuous integration and Continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
* Assist in planning, prioritisation and readiness of features for commitment prior to delivery
* Responsible for the breakdown of stories within the features; and identifying the tasks within the stories assigned to them
* Ensure Team Foundation Server (TFS) reflects correct integrated releases and tags
* Work with Environments team to ensure system integration and data availability
* Collaborate with the Test/Environment/Developer teams to develop the automated unit test and deployment processes
* Investigate bugs or incidents and contribute to tech bridge as required
* Provide support documentation for the maintenance teams
* Hold demonstrations of delivery outcomes for stakeholders

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will possess some if not all of the below skill set :
* Knowledge or experience in working with Azure/ ASW cloud native services as well as big data/analytics platforms (preferably Teradata Data Warehouse and/or Cloudera Hadoop),
* Languages including Python, Scala
* Proficiency in Agile project delivery methodology is required.
