Our client is seeking an Agile Coach for their team in Canberra.



This is an initial 4 months contract until June 30, 2024, with 2 x 6 months potential extensions option.



As the Agile Coach, you will:



  • Empower change: Mentor, support, and coach delivery teams to embrace agile methodologies, improving their understanding and execution.



  • Champion best practices: Collaborate with teams to assess existing systems and processes, implementing agile practices that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.



  • Cultivate an agile mindset: Promote agile values and industry best practices within the AEC, driving cultural change for a more responsive and adaptable organization.



  • Lead the way: Design and facilitate workshops and training sessions for technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.



  • Document and guide: Develop training materials, documentation, and support resources to equip teams with the tools they need to succeed in their agile journey.



  • Build relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong connections within the AEC and other government agencies, bridging the gap between teams and fostering cooperation.



To succeed in this role, you should:



  • Have demonstrably strong experience: Implementing and applying agile methodologies, preferably within a government setting.



  • Bring digital expertise: Possess deep experience delivering within Digital modernization and transformation projects and programs.



  • Lead with confidence: Show proven leadership and coaching skills in Agile delivery, communicating effectively across all levels of government.



  • Guide the transition: Demonstrate a track record of assisting organizations in moving from traditional project management to agile ways of working.



  • Communicate with clarity: Possess strong writing skills, able to produce high-quality communication materials, executive briefs, and facilitate workshops for leadership (including SES levels).



It is desirable if you have:



  • SAFe expertise: Recent experience implementing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) version 5 or 6.



  • Government context: Demonstrated experience integrating agile methodologies (including SAFe and SCRUM) within a government environment.



  • Community champion: Experience establishing and maturing Agile Communities of Practice.



  • CI/CD enthusiast: Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CICD) practices.



  • Change management pro: Experience in Organizational change management and learning and development disciplines.



  • Onsite availability: Ability to work onsite at an AEC office location.



  • Electoral knowledge: Understanding of, or willingness to quickly acquire knowledge of, Australian electoral law and practice.



Due to security clearance requirements, applicants must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain Baseline security clearance.
