  • Career advancement opportunities for junior analysts
  • The retention of consultants resulting in significant cost reductions for the bank in their acquisition of resources
  • BACKGROUND

An Australian bank faced rising costs in the market while seeking to grow its Cyber Analyst Practice. To strengthen both capacity and capability, the bank implemented the Capacity Uplift Solutions Program (CUSP). The program aimed to develop consultants over 12 months, equipping them with the technical and professional skills needed to transition into permanent cyber analyst roles at the end of the program.

  • APPROACH

Peoplebank produced a shortlist from which the bank’s hiring manager selected four Cyber Security Analyst consultants from cyber graduates over 12 months. The consultants received tailored support, including technical training, one-on-one mentoring, and regular feedback from hiring managers to address specific development needs. They attended 10 professional skills workshops, completed relevant certifications, and contributed to security documentation, risk assessments, and roadmaps alongside the bank’s senior cyber analysts, building both capability and confidence for permanent roles.

  • IMPACT

At the conclusion of the program, three out of four entry-level Cyber Security Analysts successfully transitioned into permanent roles. They demonstrated rapid growth, contributing to enhanced security practices, strong stakeholder collaboration, and improved analytical capabilities. Their success highlights the effectiveness of CUSP in developing junior talent and the dedication of Peoplebank consultants in supporting their development. The program also delivered $400K in total efficiencies (~$100K per resource), strengthening workforce stability while building a pipeline of skilled, job-ready cybersecurity professionals.
